We travelled from the United States to explore the Highlands and booked The Clan room at the Steading Highland Glen Lodge for our group of four — and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The room was perfect for friends travelling together, with sturdy and comfortable bunk beds, plenty of space, and a fantastic en-suite with a large, powerful shower that felt amazing after long days outdoors. We spent most of our time discovering the walking routes and scenic trails in the area, and coming back to the cosy sitting room in the lodge each evening was such a treat. The big TV, comfortable seating, and peaceful setting made it easy to unwind and plan the next day’s adventures.

I stayed for one night in the Claymore Twin and was genuinely pleased with the whole experience. The room was spotless, warm, and very comfortable — perfect after a long day of walking. The twin beds were surprisingly cosy, and the en-suite shower was excellent with great pressure and plenty of hot water. I really enjoyed the sitting room too. Having a spacious, homely area with a large TV made it easy to unwind for the evening. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic — freshly cooked, generous, and full of flavour. The only thing preventing a full 5/5 from me is the rural location. It’s wonderfully peaceful, but a bit of a stretch to reach when on foot. Otherwise, it was a brilliant stay and I’d happily return.

I stayed for one night in The Clan room at the Steading Highland Glen Lodge and was genuinely impressed. Even though the room is designed for four guests, it worked perfectly for my solo stay — spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The en-suite shower was excellent, large and powerful, just what I needed after a long day of walking. The sitting room was a real bonus too, with a huge TV and plenty of space to relax. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, freshly cooked and full of flavour. The only thing stopping a 5/5 score is the rural setting — beautiful and peaceful, but a bit of a stretch when walking without transport. Otherwise, a wonderful stay.

• Jan 1, 1970Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the comfort of The Clan room and found the facilities relaxing after your day on the trail. We’re especially pleased breakfast hit the spot. We understand your point about the rural location — it’s part of the charm for many, but can be challenging on foot. We appreciate you sharing that perspective. It was a pleasure having you, and you’re very welcome back anytime.

I stayed at the Steading Highland Glen Lodge for one night and booked The Clan room, which is normally set up for four guests. Even staying solo, it was a brilliant space — clean, comfortable, and far bigger than I expected. The bunk beds were surprisingly sturdy and comfortable, and the en-suite shower was excellent, with plenty of hot water and a really generous shower area. The sitting room was another highlight. After a long day of walking, having a cosy space with a large TV to unwind in was exactly what I needed. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic — freshly prepared, full of flavour, and the perfect start before heading back out on the trail. The only drawback for me was that I was on foot. The lodge is fairly rural, which makes it wonderfully peaceful, but it does mean it’s a bit of a trek if you don’t have a car. Because of that, I can’t quite give it a full 5/5. However, for anyone travelling by car or looking for a quiet escape, it’s an excellent place to stay.

• Jan 1, 1970Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay in The Clan room and that the en-suite facilities, sitting room, and breakfast all made your visit comfortable and relaxing after a day of walking. We completely understand your point about the rural location. Many guests appreciate the peace and quiet of our setting, but it can feel a little remote when travelling on foot. Your feedback is very useful for future walkers who may be considering staying with us.

We made a last-minute booking for one night and were really impressed with how smoothly everything went. There were three of us travelling, so we took one double room and one twin, both of which were spotless, warm, and incredibly cosy — exactly what we needed after a long day on the road. After checking in, we headed over to Drumnadrochit for an evening meal, which was only a short drive away, and then returned to our rooms for a very comfortable night’s sleep. The beds were excellent, and the peaceful setting made it easy to relax straight away. Breakfast the next morning was superb. For a spontaneous stopover, it turned into a really lovely stay. We would happily return and definitely recommend it to anyone needing a comfortable, welcoming place in the area.
